Yeah I know this is kind of a serious topic for a meme website, but this is probably the most active forum I'm currently on.
Normally I don't talk about myself on here, but a roommate of mine recently almost died in a painful way and now they're scared shitless of dying to the point they can't function or hold a stable relationship and when she comes home from work she can't function in her day to day life. On the one hand she's taking much better care of her health, eating right, exercising and such. On the other hand she's developed a phobia of sleeping to the point she won't sleep and before passing out she cries saying she doesn't want to die in her sleep. I wouldn't say she's a alcoholic, cause she doesn't drink 24/7 but at the same time the days she does drink that's the only nights she's getting restful sleep. The doctors say that physically she's fine now, the problem though is her mental well being is getting really bad.
I'm not a psychologist or have any experience dealing with something like this. She's on anti-anxiety meds, but it's apparent they're nowhere near enough. How would I go about trying to get her to see a psychologist or talk to her physician about upping her anti-anxiety medication cause if someone is sobbing all night saying they're afraid of dying in their sleep it's obvious they're not getting enough meds.
