The KYM forums aren't the most popular, but I believe in quality over quantity, brother.

The forums I have used the most are sites where there isn't much on the site itself, but the forum is gigantic.
For example, the spacebattle main site is a tiny web page with 1990s Star Trek Jokes, while the forums have millions of posts and hundreds of users on at any time.
I guess the main exception to this is smogon, which I use to use the site and the forums quite a lot.
