By "I found" I mean "someone on tumblr found it and I'm posting it here." The thing is a freaking treasure trove of real-time reactions, starting right after the first plane hit. You can find the thread here and credit goes to the fine people at this thread. I highly recommend giving it a skim, since it's a legit historical document.

A few choice screenshots:

1)

In which a random SA poster become one of the first people to figure out who did it

2)

In which a second poster is freaking psychic

3)

In which a third is even more psychic, and summarizes several decades of political science research in a couple of paragraphs

The whole thing is a bit of a ride

Osama's objectives:

  • Bog the US down in an expensive war in Afghanistan
  • Get the US out of Saudi Arabia
  • Scare the US into giving concessions to extremists who otherwise wouldn't be worth talking to if Osama wasn't the worse option
  • Inspire a global expansion of Islam
  • Replace all of the socialist Arab dictators with Islamic governments
  • Conquer Europe through mass immigration funded by their own welfare states
  • Trick the US and Russia into fighting a nuclear war with each other

All in all, it looks like his side is winning.

In terms of defense, the story of the past 30 years of domestic counterterrorism has been DC shutting down investigations because some idiot in the CIA thinks the targets could be used as assets or some idiot in State thinks arrests would interfere with diplomatic efforts or some idiot in Civil Rights thinks religion makes you immune to needing to follow laws against money laundering and racketeering. People have given up the fight, and knowledge has been lost to the point that the government is partnering with agencies that used to be under investigation for supporting Osama. We are actually worse off today than we were at 9/11.

Speaking of lost knowledge, here's an odd bit of history. Iraqi intelligence helped expand al-Qaeda from a training camp to a global network by hiring Hasan Turabi to find preachers who would condemn Saudi Arabia for allowing foreign American troops on Arab soil. Turabi hired Osama to rebuild the Muslim Brotherhood's money laundering network after BCCI was shut down, and the rest is history. By the time Bush Jr. wanted to start a war with Iraq twelve years later, no one in the US government knew this anymore. Here was a direct fundamental relationship between Iraq and al-Qaeda that could be pinned right on Saddam Hussein and no one mentioned it.

It looks like thread page 18 is unavailable. I tried to access it, but it only returns a 404 error. Oh well, at least they still managed to retain the rest of the thread.

Intelligence, without it, the military mind as well be a pitting their units in a gladiator arena, and that's where they'll die to do shit all. The past is over though. They either need to make dedicated interventions or keep letting them die. All this 9/11, whether we know what happened or not. Its already done and moving on is important. I personally think inner circles of goat fucker sympathisers within intelligence communities helped get the biggest known calibre ever used to kill people and crashed it straight into the twin towers.

And that's when spec ops recruits will be in demand, they keep dying though so we need even more recruits.

And of course while that vehicle manufacturer brand is jerking off to Saudi arabia vs houthis conflict, U.S leeching off Saudi Arabian money. Its like learned helplessness, a lack of inherent conviction and improvement.

The houthi sandal warriors blowing up the hyped up MRAP. I've seen the combined marksmanship of a Saudi Arabian squadron equivelent to a 20 year old american with a 5 day pro training course. Americans wont be able to teach shit to the middle east, it'll take a couple generations before they do when education starts to function in war torn area, the length of time they spent in the deserts brings serious feelings of impersonal anonymity among locals.

That's why when such a straightforward no bullshit nation like Russian uses Syria as a type of proving ground for their military tech and experience, whose horizons isn't so convoluted from financial gain to policing the locals. The green berets whose personalities are probably the best group of guys for this conflict. But still not enough of those guys. Those squads of vigilant marines who gives no fuck about goat herders except themselves are there more as meat shields until other priorities are done.

Now here's a bit of Russian ball sucking. Of course the russians can rehabilitate and reform a incompetent force into effective soldiers who mow down ISIS, they are fresh as fuck and come with conviction of a Stalin ballsack. Plus U.S is more of a fire blanket than a water hose. The UKSOF who trained a generation of guys, who then trained more guys into the most effecient combatants in movement and weapon manipulation, the ST6 dressed up in the NSWDG, then everybody copy pasted that shit on the cranium.
Fire blankets don't put out fires but they can somewhat control a circumstance until the firemen arrive. U.S despite trying to be perceived as a world leader, their role in warfare isisnteccesarily changed for the last hundred years.

And the firemen are either the locals or russians. Have you seen the russian recon dudes killing Isis guys? They are fresh as fuck 2×. In their tactics, Russians are some of the most well timed ambushers and coordinated killers i've ever seen. Individually, not as refined or sophisticated as the western counterparts in direct action, but they don't need to be martial art ballerinas like connor McGregor who touch things to death.

The sheer hardcoreness and the quantity of that hardcore soldiers in Russia is good enough to makes up for lack of world class skills. If you want hardcore will whose brains tick like a million dollar watch, with world class skills, you don't ask Americans. You go ask a couple European masterpieces. They specifically had Russian soldiers linked with to Arabic nationality so Russians can speak to them, unlike getting a translator off the locals. That's why its valued that specfor dudes speak the inhabitant directly.

Truly, the reason why special forces, special operators really explodes is when something catastrophic happened to them patriotically, nationally and there is a need to serve and take on the role of a protector, a defender.

With the current social status quo, the only people being in spec ops will be from domestically harsh environments or people who are not tainted by the internet culture. But because of all these hoaxes and bullshit by social media firms. No one will have a reason to die or come back with life scarring injuries, so nobody wants to join. I can only see some obsessed kid with inane fascination with old early 2000 war movies in 2020 to go become an action hero in spec ops but that's about it lol

Listen, guys, this isn't a thread about 9/11 theories or ideas about contemporary international relations and "grand strategy." This is a thread about this cool document I found. Could you stay on topic please?

It's interesting to see the false rumors of bombs going off at the White House/Pentagon along side the actual reports. It's interesting to see how misinformation and rumors spread so easily in a time of crisis.
