Today Planters has announced that their mascot "Mr. Peanut" has died as the age of 104.

As of 3:51pm, both "Mr. Peanut" and "RIPeanut" has both been trending on Twitter. Mr. Peanut is currently Number 1, while RIPeanut is number 2. And the official Planters Twitter page is posting tons of tribute tweets including retweets from other companies.

A 2020 SuperBowl Ad will feature Mr. Peanut's funeral.
This announcement deserves it's own meme entry because of how bizarre this is.
