Any alternatives to twitter in terms of art?

I’m making some mirrors for folks out there who personally don’t like Twitter and I wanna ask if there;s any decent alternatives out there.

Hard mode:

No pixv please. Just not for me despite liking a few Japanese artist on there.

There is also Newgrounds, but I don't think this is a place you'd like. Tumblr is still somehow holding on despite porn ban.

Also my condolences to you due to the porn imposter

For posting art, rather than finding it, Instagram can be made to work if you're smart about it. Deviantart you'll have to really work and engage for exposure and as gay as Reddit is, isn't too bad for posting fanart onto for people to see. I haven't got the slightest of anywhere because those are what I use.

Still…Japanese artists predominantly use Twitter nowadays. Maybe they're onto something.

Alternatives for you, or for your followers?
I enjoy using imageboards like 4chan for raw and instant feedback, provided you don't care about numbers, make genuine efforts at drawing, and find a circle/fanbase to immerse yourself in.
Otherwise I advise you to stay on Twitter, the other platforms have problems too great to ignore. Instagram and Newgrounds are viable though, if you just want your followers to have an option besides Twitter.

I really wish there was something definitely better but the thing is Twitter in practice is maybe the best website for finding new artists

The way the it throws new art in your face constantly where you follow one person who then likes/retweets posts who most likely like the same stuff as you and in an organic way.

Like you're getting recommendations from a real person and not a bot unlike Youtube. So you end finding one guy then branch off into 2 people who then share even more content you like and get 4 ect

This also helps you grow fast, where as DA and new grounds have small and niche users Twitter is more diverse

No other site does this better imo, the issue is every other fucking thing

Most places I know of have been mentioned already

-Deviantart
-newgrounds
-furaffinity
-artstation(It's mainly for professional artists, but I've seen a bit of hobbyist type stuff)
-weasyl (sort of dead though)

It makes me sad that twitter is so popular among artists. It's a terrible website for an art gallery.

I’d recommend reddit since a few artists I like post their work to some of the subreddits I browse. Though the whole stigma of reddit being reddit might drive some people off. There’s deviantArt but you’ll need to be really good to get a sizable amount of clout on there. There’s also Instagram but be prepared for some art thieves on there.
