I think there's other threads like this, but essentially I want to make a thread that's here to let people vent about some of their less popular opinions and thoughts that they might not feel happy sharing other place.

To start and put myself out there: I understand that there is a clear case of overly cancerous cancel culture that seems to overly effect those of a more, how shall we say, lewd nature and criticize them unnecessarily for doing something that people feel all the time. However, I will confess something openly: I actually somewhat agree with the underlying statement. I tend to believe that too much female figures are made to be attractive instead of actually being believable and somewhat less exaggerated. However, this is not a criticism or stab at nsfw artist cause believe me, I enjoy that shit. However, when it comes to series that are more sfw and don't really need to relay on it, I just feel like I'm okay with a less high focus on physicality fine people I just want to express the fact that I would enjoy less sensual appeal and more focus on memorability of the character, cause often to me, if they're really sexy, they're not that memorable with notable exceptions. This is not an attack on characters who are sexy, for I enjoy looking at them just as much as any one.

It legit bothers me a good chunk of KYM's userbase apparently thinks they know better than me, an actual trans and bisexual person, what counts as "good representation" or not of LGBT people in media. Also bugs the shit out of me opinions on some shit is never consistent. Ignoring the sequel completely right now, what the hell was so "wrong" about the subtle but overall "natural" way of revealing Ellie is gay in the DLC for The Last of Us 1? I thought people on KYM were saying not that long ago "don't make being gay their only personality trait, just let them act like average people." And that's exactly what that DLC did, but for some fucking reason some people go "why did they make this reveal so out of left field?" Well where the hell in the main game was it ever said Ellie likes men? Like come the fuck on, what is it, do you want LGBT characters to be treated like average humans and let their sexuality be shown as casually as a straight person, or do they need to have a flashing neon sign above their heads the second they appear on screen that says "I'M GAY/BISEXUAL/TRANSGENDER"?

Also ignoring how Rowling has been in recent years, I don't see what the hell was wrong about revealing Dumbledore was gay all along through a source that isn't the books themselves. Again, do you want their sexuality to be treated casually or does it need to be advertised in the same way as putting pronouns in a Twitter bio, which people on KYM also apparently hate for some reason I never understood to be honest.

a more controversial opinion I tend to have is that marriage should be completely privatized between consenting adults. the state, any state, sole obligation is to enforce marriage contracts. (children, animals, trees, and anime girls can't consent though so gonna pop that pimple before it festers).
