Hey i have a question for admins/researchers. How do you go about researching memes? i need tips on how to properly research as im lame at it.

Alright. While I've only submitted 8 entries, I'll try to help. First, I Google it. That is the number one thing I do. Google is awesome. Next, I try to find the earliest occurrence of the meme or its origin. If the meme is an image macro, I will probably go to Macrochan or Google Images. If it is a video, I will go to Youtube. If it is a YTMND, YTMND wiki is the best thing available. I will also use Urban Dictionary. Eventually, I will go to Google Insights and see when a spike happened. I will attempt to find out why the spike is there. I also look for derivatives and remixes along the way. Of course, I may look for news articles or tweets. I will possibly find a Twitter account or a Facebook page.

Once again,

is the ultimate resource.
