Can we just file all Object Labeling memes under the original page?

Because it seems like every week or so, a new object labeling meme is created, and gets its own new page, thus we have like 50+ pages for the same type of meme just with a different image used for each one.

It's not even like advice animals or something where it's different situations, different themes, etc; 99% of object labeling memes are just the same joke/punchline over and over but with a different base image. They should all just be filed under the main Object Labeling page instead of making a whole new entry for each new one.

The purpose of KYM is to document the life cycle of a large variety of memes, even ones that many find annoying, unfunny or distasteful. To properly document them, maximize discoverability and organize them within the database, they need to have their own separate entries. Each entry also has its own set of metadata which would be lost if they were included in just one big parent entry.

People used to make this same argument with advice animal entries as well.

Advice animals are actually different from each other. Each one is expressing a different joke or punchline or situation.

Object labeling is the same shit over and over and over just with different images. It's the same joke. The same punchline. Hell, a lot of the same exact jokes are carried over between each one, like "me" "life", etc.

And with how fast new base images are made and spread, it seems pointless to make an entire new entry for every single one.

There are tons of memes that reuse the same jokes. We document internet phenomenon regardless of whether or not they are using original material. If something is spreading online, we cover it. Entries aren't created simply because we think the jokes are good. I think many of the memes I cover are bland and boring.

Idk, I agree with adding all object labeling memes into the same entry. It would be like if every lolcat image had it's own entry.
Object labeling is the same joke every time, just a different image used.

Umm… every named lolcat has its own entry.

The way KYM is build, including entry-related image galleries, just lends itself to be more fitting for an entry per meme. Imagine one entry for 50 different exploitables, impossible to load, even more difficult to generate oversight in.

Also it's at times impossible to say what memes will take off. Change My Mind was expected to die in a day, yet ended up still being used. If they take off, the info is there and the entry can end up confirmed; if they die as quick as they came, submission purgatory it is.

the ones that have different text do. You don't have an entry for every single picture of a cat with text.
It would be like if each of these three images had their own entry since the picture is different

With object labeling memes, its the same thing, just the same or similar text copied over to another image.

Well yes of course, but neither do we have an entry for every relatable twitter deep fried meme image. Lolcats are from a different internet time. If lolcats were a thing now, Reddit would spew out a new lolcat meme weekly.

As for your image examples: what we do have is a MOAR entry, like we have on for there are only 2 genders with things-I-don't-like webcomic edits. So if you notice a recurring joke on object labeling memes, an entry for that joke is what's gonna happen (ex: shredded cheese from the bag).
