A furry meme that appears from time to time

sigh

A meme has been shown among the furren of tumblr multiple times via the images of this site. Multiple people have mentioned in the comments of the images that it deserves a page unto itself. The proposed title is "Me as a furry X." You might be familiar with it. Example:

I'm going to need some help compiling images and finding dates, but all in all it shan't be so hard if we come together.

I brought this up with a few furry friends that are my goto sources for info on the furry communities and they don't seem to know a thing about this meme.

Then again, you seem more patient, braver and tolerant man than me when it comes to looking up stuff on Tumblr. Seriously, that place sucks when you are trying to search for anything like a meme that I don't even bother trying to search for anything anymore on there.

I wasn't even thinking of doing that (especially since I lack an account), so although you're trying to save me, I'm afraid you've just given me the call to the hunt. Still, you've given me courage, so thank you.

As well, we have a good few of these images archived here in some other categories. Inasmuch as I'd rather not have to look these things up here as I fear others thinking I'm/influencing me to be a furry, Hashem knows what's really in the heart, and for me, that's all that matters.

Also, thank you for asking your buds. You've saved me the trouble, and I appreciate that.

No problem, it is what I do.

And if you must go through Tumblr, just watch it with the tags. You will be easily annoyed at how the result searches give you not much but thankfully safety is on by default.

There is, of course, twitter to see if the meme is on there, but you'd probably be better off asking a furry user here who has twitter to look through different furry accounts to see how often the meme comes up, which is a win-win for you since you'll get results without the chance of seeing something that you will probably put you in a dour mood.

Also, I believe that your fears of people thinking that you're closet furry or becoming one are due to a bit of self-conscious awareness of how you feel others might view you observing and commenting about furries from time to time (like someone who watches something they don't like but for some reason doesn't switch the channel) and some admiration for the artwork that isn't porn and very high quality. Which I don't consider being a furry IMO, more like those people who are curious (morbid or otherwise) about a thing and so watch it to see what happens or comes from it. Like how folks watch Xavier Renegade Angel.

In truth, it's as if they've become the suzerains/emblems of zoöanthropomophism. I'm not very happy about that, because I want to enjoy/create something beautiful without their connotations, but they cover the matter like oil upon a sea. But if I do do so, I oft feel rather crummy about it, like I've gone down a level of spirituality. They've put a taboo of sorts on it, but it can't be scrubbed out. Its a real shame, because I have wonderful ideas for children's books, but now, I have to bury them and sit shiva. As well, I'm afraid they'll draw me so close that I join them, and then I'll descend further in kedushah.

Maybe that's why I like this meme so. Some subconscious anger at my core lives for this criticism. I should do something about it.

I don't see why you should let them or you hold yourself back from creating the art that you want to create. Especially if you're doing it your way and that you want to do without conflicting or betraying what your standards and boundaries are.

Who knows, maybe you might inspire other artists to do clean high-quality artwork. Just by being yourself and doing things your way on your terms. It could be risky but I found that letting many chances pass you by because of being afraid of many things will make you feel miserable since you are also denying yourself the chances for good experiences as much as the meh and bad ones.

Hell, Studio Ghibli's creator Hayao Miyazaki is aware of how out of place they're in the anime and animation industry from practices to content, doesn't stop them from being different from other anime studios and doing things their own way.

That's true. You've really enlightened me unto these things. Thank you. I now know where I need to break this mentality from.

Anyways, continuing on about the meme at hand, I've noticed that it often has the ability to be placed in the category of OwO, Hewwo, or their sort. I'm considering making m.a.f.×. into a subcategory, but I feel like it belongs to a page on its own. It's like the classic question, when is this no longer a dialect, but rather is a language? Such is the problem of a dialect continuum, and here, we may see it as a problem of meme continua.

Also, I've probably gleaned all of the images from here into my files. Just saying

You're welcome. Also, it might help to check with some folks, ordinary and furry, on here about what problems, issues you might encounter when going clean artist on the internet and solutions for them. As well as what art websites are the best for you without the drama or such of either Deviantart or Furaffinity. And please, oh please, if you do make a twitter or some social media account for your art career please do not mix politics or any other heavy topics into that business account like if it was a gossip account unless they are very relevant to your work or treat it like a gossip account. As we have seen on this website when people on twitter say shit, it does not often end well.

But yeah onto the meme, I am not much of an expert on memes involving emoticons like OwO or slang like Hewwo, but since as you say that it can cross over several memes it would be hard putting it into its own subcategory if say OwO and Hewwo are two different separate memes. At the same time, if you have enough number of images and accounts from people in the furry fandom of the meme being quite common or has traction, you can justify an article for it.

And getting all the pics together into one folder so that there is no crawling around for them, later on, to use for the article is not a bad start.

Give me a link when you're done with the page.

And if you're going for writer rather than say an artist like I thought it was, then the twitter or any type of social media account still applies. I learned during my course in MA in English that many writers, like artists, use the social media these days like advertisement vehicle for their products and themselves. Publishing houses/Book publishers might encourage ya to do it since they will look for any way to increase book sales.

Also, now that I've started to browse tumblr for these frickwit posts, I'm beginning to have a feeling that this might not necessarily be a meme. It could be a mere short-lived in-joke, but nothing altogether significant. Worthy of archive in image format? Yes. But I have a hunch that it may not be altogether worthy of a page. What do you think? You seem to have been here longer than me.

Oh… uh, damn. I really don't know how since one idea is any archive sites like Wayback Machine but you have to get lucky for someone to record what you are looking for. Maybe one of the moderators, admins or any of the tech-savvy staff here might have some better ideas on how to date dead links.

I have only been around for ten months compared to your year, and I have only mostly commented on stuff. However, I have looked at articles or pages that have gone deadpool and it is usually from a lack of enough content and that the meme and such are too shortlived and small. So probably archive in image format if there just isn't enough for a page not to be deadpooled.
