As I will present, that we should combine both entries into one with the following reasons:

  • Similarities of the format with little to differentiate between the two that would warrant seperate entries
  • Appears the same time (late 2008) so there more incentive to classify them under one meme
  • Anyone who might be interested in old memes might look at these entries and be disappointed with how dated they are

As for revamping the entries, not only for the points I provided above, but I also have evidence that predate both memes. Example A(Aug.16 2008) and B(Aug.25 2008).

As you can these two videos share the same format as the memes I discuss so I implore that we find a proper name for this meme format for when we combine and rework the entries.

I also would like to thank user Eris for discussing and helping get this topic in the forefront. Many thanks friend.

If we were to merge the gallery's I think it would be entitled something along the lines of "Early SpongeBob Memes" or if we were to merge all of these old memes together, they'd be something along the lines of "Early YouTube Memes." It's probably be discussed as to how these memes evolved into YouTube Poops and helped shape early YouTube culture and how it has evolved to what it is now in the modern day. YTPs and other related memes still survive in their own little communities, they're just not as big as they used to be and are now a niche concept.

YouTube Fad Videos would be a better name if we want to encompass all the videos that follow this format, not just spongebob in general. I don't know what influence they had on YTP during that era but it I agree with you about being it a niche market now.
