Really, I'd pick one of two options;

to tell you the truth, all the hating talk is becoming more annoying then them.
I still dont like them but still…

@Karnage: Yeah. They're mostly out of the public spotlight. Light's fading, why bother them?

@Ric: …Iunno. You're the one operating the quiz-thing.

Don't worry, the guide I'm writing isn't NEARLY as… well pissy as I tend to get on this thread, and it's more of a character writing and designing guide then a fanfiction tutorial. My dislike of Nix and characters like it (including the popular fanon interpretation of Luna) is my own, and I know it'll take more then me wining about it to get people to agree with me.

I'm stuck in a fairly frustrating predicament though. I've been wanting to buckle down an do something creative and inspiring since I got here, but I'm having too much trouble understanding what the community would want to see and enjoy for me to fully commit myself.

How many people do you know who would absolutely LOVE an episodic story-driven comic series? It's a huge commitment of time and effort and I can't help but feel it would all go to waste.

Please tell me that you like Celestia. She isn't an OC or a Mary-Sue.

Id like to see that, sounds interesting.

Cute, or irony. As long as it's not R34, and I know you would never do that.

Actually, though part of my opinion will depend upon context and such, I would like to see that.

You mean something that could double as an episode if put into animation? If the art and story is well-done, then I think a lot of people would like it. The animation and voice-acting is part of the reason for the fandom, but since we'll simply add the voices in our heads, a comic would be like another episode. But that's just me talking.

Also, I can relate in wanting to create something inspired by the show. I like writing, but I'm not much of an artist or writer of fiction.

Just…can't seem to get mah cutie mark in the fandom…

I don't hate alicorns in general, Celstia is an awesome character! The official canon version of Luna (if she got any screen time, or maybe more then one line) might just be great too. It's just… when the community makes a character who's an alicorn, they tend to use it as a free "this character can do anything they want" card.

Celestia and Luna (maybe) are alicorns, but they aren't Mary Sues because the writers know how to make a well balanced character.

They have no need for crude projectile weapons. They actually have to need for weapons of any kind at all.

@everypony
Thanks, it's good to know I'm not wasting my time here. It can just get really frustrating when I can't work up the inspiration to pursue my projects, that's usually the reason I get short with people sometimes.

She probably does, though it's more likely for ceremonial purposes.

I like Celestia and Luna too and it seems that OC alicorns are given a Honer Badger attitude, if you get my drift ;) Also Grace was originally supposed to be unable to fly.

Oh, you didn't see these?

Oh, something Gigatoast said awhile back reminded me of a question I've been meaning to ask:
Would you prefer to have a longer, episodic style or the current slice of life premise of the show?
Personally, I like the latter better, at least in this kind of show.

Muumi did the drawing Lolstaz colored it

Ah of course

They've been doing that up until the early-to-late 1800s and 1900s, why can't we do it now?

Besides, considering the setting, it's perfectly justifiable.

So, i just saw a "walking baby pinikie pie" commercial, can anyone recomend a good brand of brain bleach?
And @ gigatoast's post from waaaaaaay up there:
It's true, and kinda sad, that Mary Sue alicorns pretty much ruin the race's usability as OCs

Yep that's a jabberwocky. I can tell from the Idiotic statement and seeing quite a few jabberwockies in my time

@Edan: Honestly? That was pretty amazing. Though when Starscream tricked Dash, I could pretty much see the ending right there.

As well, the actual KO itself was completely out-of-the-blue surprising.

That's all I can say without spoiling it.

And now for a (partly) shameless plug by Sparty.

I am done the first chapter of my OC fanfic. It's called Moving Day and the link is right there in the chapter name. I might go to make the second chapter now in my spare time, but feedback would be appreciated.

We now return you to your standard programming: Death Battle.
