please hollywood
anything but this
As much as I think The Rock is awesome, No, Just No
The Rock? Yes.
Jumanji? NO.
I think there's actually a lot of creative and fun ways you could expand the concept of the original, especially with two decades of technological advancement. Of course, that requires Hollywood to not fuck it up.
You should never hold your breath for that one.
The original movie sets up for a sequel, but we already know that the Hollywood executives behind this production didn't hire The Rock and tell him to break the news on Instagram for the nostalgia. He specifically says he's sharing a story he loved with a new generation, so God knows this will be another diversely recast "modern retelling" when the original movie is a Robin Williams classic that kids today still love.
You think that's bad, apparently Kevin Hart is attached to it as well.
Ok guys I'm gonna play the devil's advocate, and give this movie the benefit of the doubt.
I loved Jumangi as a kid, and I hold it very near to me. I especially don't want to see this bomb and give both Kevin Hart and The Rock's hit or miss track record, this has the very real potential to fail hard.
Now that being said it was a classic, but as far as I know fell out of popular media and is all-but completely obscure these days so I would kinda like for kids of this generation to be able to watch this kind of movie.
Will it work out, or will it be exactly like we expect it to go?
I don't know, but I'll give it a fair shake until I see reason to doubt it otherwise.

I will say that hearing that the Rock was attached to it didn't really phase me that much. He can be a good and fun actor in the right family movie, and I can see him fitting into something like Jumangi.
But if it's true that Kevin Hart is going to be in the movie as well, then my expectations are as good as dashed.
Good job, Lisa. Everyone's caught a case of autocorrect, apparently. Hahaha.
I really hope that they give it a unique script with new characters and don't just redo the old movie scene per scene. The less they borrow from the original, the better. The original Jumanji still holds up today, there's no need to redo it, and having the exact same film with different actors is just a commitment to laziness. I will be very disappointed if this is just a straight remake.
>jumanji remake
>featuring the rock and kevin hart
This sounds like a terrible idea. The Rock doesn't sound too out of place, but Kevin Hart doesn't have a good history with movies. Hopefully this could be a faithful continuation or adaptation but I doubt it.

Aren't they both starring in a new buddy cop film coming up?
