If someone had an interest in watching JJBA, where would they start?

I'm asking because apparently this series is old as balls and adaptions go as far back as the 90's.
But I'm tired of being left out of the memes and I've seen snippets of the animation and it's wonderful and sparkly.
Also everyone is bara as fuck I don't know why I haven't started earlier now that I think about it.
So where should I start?

No, the show from the 90s is the old one.

There's a new anime out that started in like 2013 or something. You can ignore the 90s anime because it was recently remade.

Just start on part 1 Phantom Blood. Thats where the series properly starts
You'll be looking for the episode called "Dio the invader" I fucked up and watched part 3s first episode before I realized I skipped ahead.

Ok so the show has the weirdest structure ive ever seen.

IDK if you know anything about stands but you wont be seeing them for awhile. The first 2 parts could basically be in another universe from how different they are but its worth watching.

Heres a link for you, just go right to the bottom where it says "Jojos Bizarre adventure" and the first 2 parts will be in there. http://www.crunchyroll.com/jojos-bizarre-adventure

Tell us if you like it

If you just wanna get right in on the action and memes, Part 3.
If you wanna watch a modern anime that has a heavy 80s feel, Part 1 and then 2, then move on to 3. It'll give you the opportunity to get to know Joseph aka the best jojo better

And if you get to Part 4 (the current airing part), you can choose to either read the manga from that point on, or not, since the anime is pretty faithful to the manga.

Also the OVAs from the 90s are actual garbage don't bother with them, or do if you want a more "serious", less interesting version of JoJo.

I know this might sound like a smartass answer, but just start from the beginning AKA. Part 1.

Now for a more actual response, JJBA is indeed a very old series yet as far a animation goes it only really began in 2012. While there are earlier animations prior to the 2012 animation they are all pretty sub par and deviated from the source material pretty badly where most don't accept them.

Before I go explain the ordering of the series let me give you a basic understanding of how the series as a whole is written.
The story is broken into 8 parts. Each part is a entire story in it of itself with it's own set of characters and main protagonist. Each main protagonist is named JoJo although they are unique to each character. The first 3 parts have been animated and we are currently watching part 4 being made.

For simplicity sake just watch the 2012 series (which is simply called Jojo's Bizarre Adventure) That is the proper anime adaptation which follows the manga pretty faithfully. That series which is about 26 episodes follows the first 2 parts of jojo.

After that go on to Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders which is 26 episodes which covers the first HALF of part 3. Then the follow up series Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders; Battle For Egypt which is the second half of Part 3.

And lastly, the currently airing season of Jojo is know as Diamond Is Unbreakable.

If they were true fans of anime they would put the Manga down, close the crunchyroll tab and move on to berserk because jjba is fetish fuel for jealous basement dwellers with hypertonia. Unlike berserk and North star.

Ps. While I enjoy Berserk I don't think it's a sound argument to point people to Berserk right now with the less than stellar anime adaptation right now
