I watched up until visual effects, which was around 10:00. The whole thing felt like a rich liberal circle-jerk, and some of the jokes felt like they were from a middle school assembly, AKA Mark Hammil’s.

Baby Driver got ROBBED. Dunkirk was OK, just overhyped like any other Nolan movie (though I did enjoy Inception and his Batman movies); I appreciate Dunkirk's realistic and tense sounds with the war, but Baby Driver had a lot more effort put into all the action and background noises syncing with the music. What, did they not give Baby Driver the Oscar because Kevin Spacey was in it?!

Like that Coco won that Oscar, but as I've mentioned many times it's all for the wrong reasons. They don't care about animation at all. Plus if they wanna go the diversity route, include Japanese anime movies. Go to their Los Angeles premieres and shit, don't dismiss them as typical "Chinese cartoons."

Also glad that Get Out won Best Original Screenplay. Loved the way that movie handled issues of racism.

Haven't seen Shape of Water yet, but glad that Guillermo del Toro got the Oscars for that movie. Kinda wished he brought in Kojima and drop a Death Stranding trailer in the middle of all that, would've made the show much more interesting.

Didn't really watch the whole show because I was working (only caught the Best Lead Actress and Best Picture awards, I got the rest on DVR but I think I'll just skip to each award), but I did catch it on Twitter. I don't even know if I should watch the whole thing because, as with years prior, it's been nothing but political lately, especially with the whole MeToo, diversity, and "women should get the same shit as men." Good causes, don't get me wrong, but can we just shut up about those for one second.

At least the show wasn't as political as the Golden Globes were; there weren't as many black dresses this time. The show was fine for me, but honestly the best part for me was seeing the teaser for Mary Poppins Returns.
