Of the recent trend of USA studios going anime:

I'm going to tiptoe around the controversy (oh god I said controversy; Don is going to use his telepathic powers to smell this controversy), but there seems to be a emerging trend in the west currently going on of cartoon studios throwing in the towel and trying to emulate japanese anime. One of the current controversies is with Star Wars Resistence, High Guardian Spice and a couple other new shows.

What are your thoughts on this?

Personally I don't like how cartoons are starting to throw in the towel and just trying to emulate anime and trying to pander to anime fans and failing catastrophically so.

I have not heard of this, actually. Let me take a moment to quickly look up some of these shows to get a better context.

…
What the fuck did they do to Mako and Bolin.

Well, obviously if you don't know what you're doing and trying to make a quick grab of cash, don't do it. See above. It's not even anime-esque and if it is, why CGI? Why would you go to that level of uncanny.
As for High Guardian Spice, well, it's going to be popular regardless of whether or not the show is good based on loli waifus alone. Which I'm sure the world needs less of (or more if you're one of, y'know, them).

As for the idea of Western Studios trying to emulate anime, while I personally don't support the notion at all because I don't want to see any more than I do now, it's obvious to me that it'll go through if it's good. But I very, very much doubt that. I don't think that western cartoons are actually capable of properly emulating anime simply due to how… "stable" western culture is. It's not really cute or hot or outrageous in most ways, so trying to make something that's visually boring to watch is bound to fail. And if that does happen, hopefully they'll learn something from it.

@A Wolf
I think the best way to describe this would be: a attempt at a cash grab. They're seeing how big anime is and want a piece of that pie but they don't understand what anime fans want so it's a laughable attempt.

To be honest, this is kind of repeating an old trend or two.

It has been around that there have been anime influenced shows since anime had gained popularity in the US.

And it is really no secret that anime took a lot of influence from Disney.

Like the Teen Titans cartoon literally had those anime cartoonish emotive moments and the styles of it. There was Wakfu and Code Lyoko from outside of America, and from the US itself there is RBWY, Avatar the Last Airbender, and Boondocks.This really isn't new to me, it is just history repeating itself several times.

@Wolf

If you thought that that attempt at CGI was bad, then you should see the new Berserk anime's attempt at it but I would not recommend it since you'd likely want to rip your eyes out at the sight of it and the animation.

That's not how it magically works. This show is going to fail so hard that they'll use the complaints of the anime fans to come up with some Gamergate type of excuse for its failure like" it's only fault of the incels/neckbeards" or something like that to provoke everyone.
