Studio Trigger has this really distinct, Western-inspired style to their animation and writing that feels like a beautiful fusion between an old-school American cartoon and a modern Japanese anime. I don't think Sonic Team would be brave enough to do even let that happen, they seem very worried about who handle the franchise, considering how many times they got backstabbed in the past.
If they ever let Trigger to make an anime, I'm pretty sure they would constantly get involved on what to do and not what to do just like they did with Sonic Boom, the Archie comics and to an extend Mania.
