Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any way to do this beyond brute force – looking at every image in the past year and then sorting them by score. Running the numbers, I'm projecting there'll be about 150000 images added to the site since January 1st, 2016, by January 1st, 2017. (Found the first image of this year, found the newest image, figured out the number of images in between, divided by number of days so far in the year, multiplied by the remaining number of days, added it to the number added already, rounded a couple times in there. Something like that.) That'd be 150000 images to look through, by hand (or by bot, but then you risk being auto-banned). That's just plain too much.

Also, if you have any further questions like this – involving stats on the site – you could post them here. I've been working on stuff like this, and the only other person on KYM who does this kind of stuff regularly is Muffinlicious.

Maybe it'd be less time consuming, but still sounds highly impractical. Top scored images are highly inflexible. Just going through it, you can see that.

Site's been around for 7 years. Images uploaded 7 years ago have had 7 times the amount of time to gather upvotes than images uploaded 1 year ago (what I'm looking for). Also, by merely existing as a highly upvoted image, it draws in more upvotes via the trending and highest score areas.

Either way, the only answer appears to be brute force – more than I could reasonably provide.

Edit: I incentivized a group to find some for me, they found one – at number 268. Here it is. Note that it was uploaded not even a month ago, meaning it's a major outlier.

I have been proven wrong. Thanks, Gnairly, for finding all these.

So, so far, these are the top 10 images this year.
