Ok, as of now, my Karma is at 80. Is something broken?

Adding more Karma to animecello currently.
Why?
WHAT? PLease dont give me karma unless I did somethin that deserves karma!!!! If you do that, the karma system has no meaning!
Exactly, AC.
Could the admins reset it?
woah woah, i dont want that.
But still, DANG MAN. What's happened?
At least its a good thing…

Im happy with my karma levels.
Animecello sits as king on the proverbial hill of karma.
I like you, cel-chan. :)
But 108 thumbs up is ALOT of karma. You must be doing something right.
Zombie MDs fault
I noticed… I can add karma to a single person per post. I think thats kinda bugged.
Karma spamming is going to be a problem.
I mean, yeah anything could happen. animecello's karma shot up by 90 in one day. One day.
Griff has 1500 posts. Zombie could bump it up to 1500. If a squad came it could be >9000.
The karma system needs to be renovated or removed.

make it for researchers only/.
Good, point RG, but there is a way for karma to work. I was hoping for modeling after vBulletin.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUu
200 posts or higher.
ditto.
I say 100 forum posts or more can use karma system. AND karma distribution is weighed by more posts.
200 posts is a good idea. The only problem with that is spammers will reach 200 in not time.
how about 200 forum posts and KYM member for 3 months
Hmmmm, that might be a bit excessive…
I don't know.
Any maybe admins could grant and revoke the privilege?

mine r 6 karma :C
I haven't seen animecello's go up much lately. Maybe the antics are over for now.
But, yeah, we can do better.
The primary goals of the (current) karma system:
- negative karma => hide bad/off-topic/bullying posts
- numerous upvotes on one post => some kind of "top 5 posts of the month" award
Someone having "tons of karma" due to a lot of +1's or +2's doesn't actually do anything
If this "apparent karma" is distracting, it might be removed, the same way an overall contribution # was.
If a post is hidden due to low karma, can the admins make a option so that for enyone who wants to see the comment, they can click a 'show comment' button (like spam on youtube)?
IDEA: Karma Credits? Each post you post gives you a credit, which you can then use to bump someone's Karma?
Or maybe we're a mature enough community to not spam.
Yeah, I'm actually somewhat curious about what has been hidden.
im not sure if this blog-style karma system will work in a forum environment…
Also, were probably too nice to give negative karma.
@animecello
I just realized what you said in that post.
But if someone spams 200 posts, they will get banned in little time.
