KYM Memory Leak in Background

I'd noticed KYM tabs would occasionally start loading for no apparent reason when I'd had them open for a while, but I hadn't realized the issue was this big. This also might explain why I've been occasionally getting huge lag on KYM pages.

Why is KYM downloading so much, anyway?

That would explain why it has been a memory hog on my end. Hopefully this isn't connected with that Trojan problem the site has been experiencing as of late.

It ain't helping mobile either. No wonder KYM burns me through my 3G.

The video ads that auto play don't help save data either.

Videos don't autoplay on mobile, a blessing when dealing with user profiles with autoplaying music.

The "autoplay" ads I got are those Taboola ads, but those are present on every site nowadays. Whatever those are, they're not standard .avi files which destroy data.

This is a huge problem. In a couple of days from using this site my Phone went from over 50MB to none to download what so ever and now I have to get a new SIM Card. This must be fixed now.

Actually I've been thinking about it but this and the Trojan thing is likely because our website isn't secure for some reason. Maybe James or an admin can fix that.

I've noticed that if I have AdBlock on and have non-intrusive advertising disabled, the memory usage appears to be stable. On top of that, I also have not been redirected to Trojan sites since I disabled the aforementioned "non-intrusive" ads. (Said redirecting "ads" were the reason I got AdBlock in the first place and keep it on at all times when using KYM.)

From these observations, I'm beginning to suspect that it is in fact those Trojan ads that are causing the increasing and excessive memory usage.
