KYM suddenly not loading in Chrome

So for the past week (hell, less than a week) KYM refuses to load at all in Chrome. I've written this up in Firefox. It simply loads forever, no images or text shows up. If i switch between tabs, the background for KYM will have the colour background whatever the last tab's site did, so for example if i went to Tumblr, then went to the infinitely loading KYM tab, it'd have that Tumblr blue background.

Update: it loaded and i managed to get to the home page and forums but as soon as I clicked on a forum thread it did it again. It seems to load the page only partially, again no text or any kind of CSS beyond a background. It will load the page title and that's it.

EDIT: i managed to circumvent it by going to a specific article that happened to be in my history. It loaded the article, home page will not load, or only partially load. Forums load. This is weird.

I am using Chrome and the site is working for me just fine.

I don't know what else to tell you I am not an expert at these things. Maybe someone else here experienced your problem and can help.

It's not technically the same problem, but check out this thread for a quick rundown of why KYM is slow/unresponsive. Considering that you've had the problem consistently but few other users have reported anything, it's very likely that the connectivity issues lie with either your hardware or internet service provider. The fact that you can load cached pages (pages you've previously visited and are saved locally), but not new pages means that something is either really slow or entirely unresponsive. tl;dr do these things in order until something works.

  • Reboot (did you try turning it off and on again?)
  • Clear your browsing data, cache, and reset Chrome
  • Try loading pages with either Firefox, Opera, or Safari (not Edge pls)
  • Reset your modem/router
  • Reset everything else
