A new member got Gold Membership in only one day, with 2 karma, some comments and forum posts but no pictures and entries.
I've been here for almost 3 months (by this writing), had over 100 comments and posts, posted some picture and editorship on one entry.
I know you have to have some quality contribution to become golden, but seriously, WTF just happened? A newfag getting his gold before the oldfags? WTF has this world come to?

Researcher is above Gold Membershilp, so you're higher than that person is.
And no matter how much karma they have, it's based on the number of posts, images submitted, and videos submitted.

Hah! I think the guy you're talking about is an amateur. I got my Gold Membership in 2 hours and my researcher in 3 XD.
