First of all, we are actually witnessing a meme explosion of a fan character's popularity and uploads during the boom period are a testament to its popularity and the lifespan of said popularity. Bowsette in and of herself is, without a shadow of a doubt, a "meme".

Second of all, we have already deleted some images that are too far over the NSFW line.

Third of all, too many removals and the pro-lewdies throw a little bitch fit as usual.

Fourth of all, not enough removals and the anti-lewdies throw a little bitch fit as usual.

This is a trend-in-progress and we are treating it as such by evaluating the uploads case-by-case as they come.

Every non-mod thinks that determining what content is appropriate for this place is easy and straightforward.

It isn't.

Do consider that we are on a weekend. People are generally less active about uploading memes during weekends here, and Bowsette so just happened to implode at this time as well, so there is that. It also largely depends on what people upvote, of course.

If anything, the only "fix" that needs to be done is to give users a way to filter content out manually like most sites have, but that is beyond mod capacity: there is back-end programming involved there, and adding another "Show fewer (x)" button would not cut it. A simple tag-based filter should do the trick, but seeing how that is more or less at the same level as editable comments, I would not hold hopes too high about it, unfortunately.

It's a weekend so I'll spare you "been there, done that" speech. Filtering tags on a user-by-user basis is never happening because it can't happen.

KYM was never build to story millions of images categorically beyond what entry they fell under – let alone become a softcore porn repository. It would require nearly a complete teardown and restructuring that one guy simply doesn't have the time or resources to handle.

As for the other features, KYM is held together with some chewing gum and javascript that doesn't work anymore. It's as slow and fickle as it is for a number of reasons, and this also means new features only exaggerate this problems. What you see now is what you get for a long, long time.

Oh, and whoever is posting all the Bowsette with massive bulging futa penises: please stop. DM us that stuff directly.

Maybe this wouldn't be such a problem if it were to stop being allowed to be a problem.

I'm honest to God getting fed up with this bullshit just over some powerup that turns people into cute girls. Either have this site shit down then re open in a few years. It's just not salvageable in its current state unless we nd up banning users who post leads here. Even then that infringes on free rights of the user.

So even if useless things like "+Add an Image" which is on every gallery now and "Show Fewer Ponies" button would be removed, this site would still be as slow as it is now? It wouldn't become any faster? I know it's a question that has been asked probably a lot now but i never got any answers to it. If this site has problems and is so slow, then why not trying to fix it by removing useless features? Adding and changing things doesn't seem to be a problem since "+Add an Image" that's on every gallery now was suddenly added some months ago and front page's trending galleries on the right side was changed suddenly from views to just big images. Is removing things a lot harder than adding and chaging things?

On one hand, I get where you're coming from, but on the other hand stop acting so damn melodramatic you act like the trending images gallery is just gonna be this for years on end when at most it's probably gonna be a week before things die down

This is just the straw that broke the camel's back, my friend, waifus like these come and go, when one disappears, another one takes its place, they clog up virtually the entire Internet around their initial boom.

Earth-chan, IE-chan, Ebola-chan, and others have come before, but never have I seen a case as extreme as this one, when about 90% of the trending images are Bowsette, and reading comments explaining how it even managed to reach Japan in such a short time, I'm beginning to worry a bit that it will last longer than we expect; and even when she does disappear, another one will come, and the cycle will continue. I've personally witnessed this a couple of times by now. I hope you understand why I act a bit "melodramatic", it just keeps happening with no signs of stopping.

Going every day to this site (and others) and watching it being filled up with drawings of girls, it's just… tiring to me… watching how extreme this Bowsette situation has become concerned me greatly.

People can enjoy them all they want, of course, I'm not going to stop them, but that doesn't I can't voice my opinion on how I don't like how they saturate the Internet.

But anyway, I'm done ranting about this topic, I've already relieved myself enough, so I'm just going to ignore it until it goes away, see ya.

To be honest, if you want to look for the memes, you are more likely going to see them in the All section. The Trending section, just represents what Know Your Meme users are in favor for right now.
