I appreciate /r/wallstreetbets for going after the mega rich, but they're still shitty Redditors ("centrists"/"liberals", i.e. fascists in waiting) and can't help themselves from throwing "r*tard" and "autist" around as if they're not harmful words that do actual harm to people.

I myself have Aspergers and after only a few minutes of poking around on the sub, I was left a quivering, sobbing mess in the corner and could hardly catch my breath for the next hour. It figures the subreddit would only be briefly taken down for targeting the wealthy, but it should be permanently banned for rampant hate speech.

Reddit are not our friends. I'm all for seizing the means of production, but not if bigotry plays such a key role in it. Do better.

As an Aspie myself, I would like it if they stopped using autism in a derogatory way as well; however, I know that they will never stop. Telling them to quit it just makes them angry.

I'm gonna break this thread's character to explain something: I do have Aspergers, but my post was sarcastic (and I hate using "/s" to ruin the joke). Don't be embarrassed, but reread the post and try to pick up on some context clues. I realize with Poe's Law it's become impossible to distinguish sarcasm from something someone would say in earnest, but sometimes you can make a safe assumption.

Also, I don't see most autism jokes as mean-spirited (many of those making them probably have it). You can either be offended by them or take some self-deprecating humor in stride, which is what I've decided to do. And telling them to quit would more likely amuse them by looking "butthurt" than make them angry.

I admit that I was not reading it that carefully. Moreover, I have actually aroound people who do say such things earnestly quite frequently, so Poe's Law was definitely in effect for me.
