So Nintendo did a surprise Partner Showcase this morning

My guess on why they didn't announce this one ahead of time might legit be because "we saw you fucks get overhyped over shit we never promised last time, now we're not even gonna give ya'll the chance."

Main surprises for me personally were the announcement of the SaGa/Final Fantasy Legend Collection on Switch (been wanting to give this series a try, and yeah despite being rebraded as FF games in the West back in the 90s these games are part of a separate franchise called SaGa), that Taiko RPG that looks like it might be a lot of fun (and it's two games in one package too), and Puyo Puyo Tetris 2.

And of course most of the comments are just people bitching about another partner showcase and not getting first party games.

Do some Nintendo fans not know there's still a pandemic going on?

That doesn't prevent nintendo from making a statement of some, ANY kind. The issue isn't just "there hasn't been a direct in a while", there hasn't be any information, updates, or communication in months, it's the radio silence that's pissing people off.

I do genuinely get that, but I feel like most of the people complaining only seem to care about first party titles and want Nintendo to spoonfeed them new games.

An announcement would be great of course, but there isn't any rush.

Well, Sakurai indirectly hinted at COVID being the main reason for the delay and radio silence. As for why Nintendo themselves are not fully vocal about it, one can only guess, though I bet it must be something about advertisers and their public image.

Sure I want a real Direct personally.

But FFCC remastered and Puyo Puyo tetris 2 baby!
Also the longer nintendo takes the more backlog I finish. Finishing up Torna now before working through more of steam backlog.

I'm hearing some pretty mixed stuff about FFCC remastered. The biggest issue is that the game's online is an absolute dumpster fire right now so people who want to play co-op are not in a good spot, and the co-op itself doesn't work like it did in the Gamecube original as apparently only the host can see the story events. Also the local co-op from the original was removed entirely for some weird reason. Hopefully it'll get fixed but it seems right now only people who want to play solo are having a decent time.

I never played FFCC multiplayer even on Gamecube so on a personal level none of those bother me. Though I likely will be much further along in game vs friends whenever we play it online.
