Reminding X / Twitter users of typical Facebook posts, the threads became a subject of parodies in mid-July 2024, with users using the catchphrase as a caption alongside various mocking images or GIFs.

Origin

On July 7th, 2024, X^[1] / Twitter account @Moral_Wisdom_ started posting threads of supposedly profound images titled "15 Pictures With Deep Meaning." The first thread (opening post shown below, left) garnered over 19,000 reposts and 250,000 likes in 10 days. Another thread, posted on July 11th, received over 66,00 reposts and 664,000 likes on X^[2] in five days (opening post shown below, right).

On July 7th, 2024, X^[3] user @LiteralDeerIRL made the first notable parody post, posting a thread of their artwork with the caption. The post gained over 730 reposts and 15,000 likes in 10 days.

On July 12th, X^[4] user @Huddled_Up quote posted the July 11th thread, commenting that it reminded them of content typically found on Facebook. The post (shown below) received over 16,000 reposts and 340,000 likes in four days.

Starting on July 12th, 2024, users on X^[5] / Twitter made more posts parodying the threads, pairing the caption with various images. On that day, X user @NebsGoodTakes posted a Godzilla GIF with the caption, with the post (shown below, left) garnering over 2,600 reposts and 34,000 likes in four days. On July 13th, X^[6] user @LAPUTAPANCHIKO made a parody post that gained over 5,100 reposts and 107,000 likes in three days (shown below, right).

More parody posts went viral on X / Twitter in mid-July 2024. For example, on July 13th, 2024, X^[7] user @stargoddesssage posted a Gay Little Monkey Boy at Apple Store meme that received over 8,400 reposts and 125,000 likes in three days (shown below).
