3 Orangutans 1 Blender is a supposed shock video in which orangutans get horrifically maimed. The name of the video uses the same phrasing as 2 Girls 1 Cup. However, there is debate over whether the video even exists, as the only extant proof of the video's existence is a series of reaction videos with people "watching" the video while the noise from the video plays. Skeptics have argued the videos were a play on the viral 2 Girls 1 Cup reaction videos from the late 2000s, as people would film themselves watching the video but the viewer could only hear the video's music.

Origin

It is unclear where the video originated, but the earliest extant proof of its existence was posted to YouTube on March 8th, 2008 by user Damonico, who posted a reaction video of himself supposedly watching 3 Orangutans 1 Blender (shown below).

According to rumor, the video contains graphically horrific imagery or men maiming orangutans. The video supposedly contains^[1]:

According to the Screamerfanbase Wiki, all of the supposed reaction videos use the same audio file, "which appears to be a Garage Band loop with monkey sounds" (shown below).

Over the following several years, other YouTubers posted their supposed reactions to the video, such as users chimonster7 (shown below, left) and theaterrate57 (shown below, right). Questions about the video and its authenticity surfaced on Yahoo Answers^[2] and Reddit.^[3]

Comments on the reaction videos are generally divided between people looking for the video, others saying they'd seen it and describing part of it, and others saying it's a complete hoax.

Interest in the video spiked after the YouTube channel Unus Annus learned of the name while researching the 2 Girls 1 Cup, though the pair of Markiplier and CrankGameplays did not investigate it further (shown below). The Wikipedia page for 2 Girls 1 Cup says the name for 3 Orangutans 1 Blender was inspired by 2 Girls 1 Cup, and cites The Complete Encyclopedia of Internet Pornography by Heinz Duthel.^[4]
