Alma Hanna is a Military Thirst Trap Bot Account on X / Twitter that went viral in March 2024 for its absurd engagement bait posts, which typically depict an AI-generated image of a curvacious woman in skin-tight pseudo-military outfits alongside captions like "I am military. Nobody Loves Me😢" and "I Need Husband💕 I Am From USA & UK." The account was first created in January 2023, with viewers parodying its thirst trap content, as well as the unsuspecting male X users who interacted with it thinking that a real woman runs it.

The Twitter / X account Alma Hanna @hannanative was created in January 2023, with its earliest post being traced back to December 1st, 2023. The account initially posted images of Native American women, often with captions like "I am not pretty."^[1] The earliest known instance of the account posting a military-themed AI-generated image was a January 9th, 2024 post that gathered over 600 likes in two months (seen below).

Spread

The bot account @hannanative continued posting images of AI-generated women in military uniforms going into March 2024, as seen in posts made on March 1st,^[2] and March 3rd,^[3] gathering over 3,000 and 2,000 likes respectively.

On March 4th, 2024, X^[4] user @polypocketknife wrote, "It's cool that the internet is just like this now," possibly in reference to the Dead Internet Theory. The post showed older men sincerely attempting to interact with the bot account, gathering over 100,000 likes in a day (seen below).

Also on March 4th, X^[5] user @generalslug posted a collection of screenshots showing the responses the bots received from seemingly real men, gathering over 2,000 likes in a day (seen below).
