Android Users Vs. iPhone Users refers to a series of memes that express the differences between the iPhone and phones that run the Android mobile operating system. These memes typically focus on the camera quality of the phone but can feature other aspects. The meme is part of a long-running topic of conversation comparing the two smartphone platforms.

Origin

On June 24th, 2010, YouTuber Tiny Watch posted a video animation of two animals comparing the iPhone and the HTC Evo. The post received more than 16 million views in nearly a decade.

On June 15th, 2011, Androidiani posted a Rage Comic featuring the comparison (shown below, left).[2]

On September 15th, 2012 by YouTuber Giga Games. The video "Shit Android Fanatics Say" features a person attempting to sell the phone's perceived shortcomings as a strength.

On January 5th, 2015, Twitter [1] user @smeezi tweeted a pixelated image of Pepe the Frog with the caption "android users be like 'Selfie!'" The post indicates that Android phones produce low-quality photographs. Within four years, the post received more than 1,200 retweets and 2,000 likes (shown below).

On September 12th, 2017, Twitter[3] user @kobychill tweeted a pixelated image of a woman with the caption "apple: iPhone 8 camera is better than ever! android user: we had that already [] []." The post received more than 60,000 retweets and 100,000 likes in two years (shown below).

Days later, Redditor [4] dcsauce posted "I've seen a flux of 'memes' bashing android lately, just as the latest iPhone has been revealed. iPhone and any company can do this and use meme pages as a front for 'fellow kid' propaganda" in the /r/conspiracy subreddit. The post reieved more than 345 points (84% upvoted) and 65 comments.
