About

But I Am Latin, So I Get To Feel Whatever I Want refers to a memorable quote said by Modern Family character Gloria Ramirez Pritchett in response to her husband for dreaming about another woman in his sleep. Online, a still image of the character paired with the caption has circulated on Twitter and Facebook, often used when a Latin American or Latino person overreacts to an online argument or news that they disagree with.

Origin

On February 5th, 2014, episode 14 of season five of Modern Family, titled "iSpy," premiered.[1] In one scene, the character Gloria Ramirez Pritchett is angry at Jay Pritchett, her husband, after he had a dream about another woman one night. At one point, she looks at the camera and agrees that her reaction was a bit exaggerated and says "but I am Latin, so I get to feel whatever I want." A clip of the scene was posted on YouTube[2] by @EntertainmentAndYou on December 12th, 2022, garnering 27,000 views and 1,400 likes in seven months (seen below).
