Camila Cabello "I'll Be Home For Quismois" is a viral video referencing a clip of pop singer Camila Cabello singing "I'll Be Home for Christmas" at the 2021 White House: Spirit of the Season concert. In the clip, her pronunciation of the word "Christmas" struck many as bizarre, with listeners joking it sounded more like "Quismois," "Quiz Mice," Quiznos" and other humorous words. Jokes and memes about the performance began spreading in late 2022, primarily on Twitter and TikTok.

Origin

On December 21st, 2021, Camila Cabello performed "I'll Be Home For Christmas" at the White House: Spirit of the Season concert streamed on PBS.[1] On January 14th, 2022, Cabello then uploaded the performance to her YouTube channel, gaining over 538,000 views in nearly one year (shown below).



On November 18th, 2022, Twitter user @lidolmix posted a portion of the performance when Cabello sings the song's title lyric, captioning the video, "I'll be home for quismoiss," gaining over 48,000 retweets and 447,000 likes in 10 days (shown below).


Spread

The clip quickly became fodder for jokes on TikTok in the following days and weeks. For example, on November 19th, 2022, user @Karmapilled made a video joking as though Cabello pronounced it "quiz mice," gaining over 1.2 million likes in nine days (shown below, left). TikToker @notbfiner also posted the clip the same day, gaining over 2.3 million likes (shown below, right).

On November 22nd, Cabello made a TikTok joking about the meme developing from her performance, playing a pronunciation coach instructing herself on how to pronounce "Christmas." The video gained over 3.2 million likes in less than one week (shown below).
