About

Can't Escape From Crossing Fate refers to a catchphrase said before battles in the upcoming fighting video game BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle. In May of 2018, the phrase became a remix meme on YouTube, as users put the catchphrase in various clips from television shows before two characters fight.

Origin

BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle was announced July 16th, 2017 at the EVO 2017 competition.[1] The line could be seen in pre-release footage for the game. For example, an October 3rd, 2017 upload of game footage by YouTuber Kaizouwar has the line (shown below).

Spread

The line began becoming a meme on YouTube in May of 2018, when it began seeing use in remixed clips from television. On May 14th, 2018, YouTuber Baf0 posted a clip from the Family Guy and Simpsons crossover episode edited to have the line, gaining over 60,000 views (shown below, left).

The same day the video was posted, Twitter user @Zela_Kantal[2] uploaded a green-screened version so that other users could make memes. After that video was posted, several other YouTubers posted remixes of their own. User Thunder Kai posted a version using a clip from KonoSuba, gaining over 18,000 views (shown below, left). Another video posted by D Bro Gamer used a different clip from The Simpsons gaining over 15,000 views (shown below, right).
