In 2007, the fan-favorite professional wrestler, Chris Benoit, was found dead, with his family in an apparent murder suicide. While his employing company the WWE has since distanced itself from Chris Benoit, many fans have kept his memory alive by making videos (often poorly edited) and posting them to Youtube. These videos depict Chris Benoit making a surprise return to face a current wrestler, or to make a save.

The intent of the videos is unknown. Is this the wishful thinking, and dream of what could have been for die-hard wrestling fans? Or is this a sick joke with the only intention being to offend the fans of the WWE?

A typical video usually features a current WWE performer in the ring. He is usually cutting a promo, delivering an after-match beatdown or something along those lines. Suddenly, and by surprise, Chris Benoit's entrance music hits, and the video cuts to the entrance ramp where Benoit's video is playing, and he comes on stage. More video is spliced in, showing fans cheering for Benoit while holding signs in his honor. We then watch Benoit make his way to the ring, and the person who was already in the ring, reacts accordingly.
