About
PEAK is a 2025 cooperative indie video game developed by Landfill and Aggro Crab in which up to four players are tasked with climbing a mountain, scavenging resources, using a variety of tools and assisting each other to achieve their goal. The game's map rotates out every 24 hours, providing players with a new challenge daily. Released in mid-June 2025, the game went viral on TikTok, X and other social media, selling over 2 million copies in its first two weeks.
History
On June 16th, 2025, indie cooperative video game PEAK, co-developed by Landfill and Aggro Crab, was released[1] on Steam (release trainer shown below).. In the game, one to four players are survivors of a plane crash who find themselves on a shore of a mysterious island, and must climb a mountain in its center in order to escape. The game challenges the players to work together to overcome obstacles and gather resources to survive.
Gameplay and Features
In Peak, players take on roles of nature scouts who find themselves stranded on an island following a plane crash. To survive, they must climb a tall mountain in the middle of the island, gathering recourses to survive, managing their stamina, and using tools such as ropes and climbing spikes to advance. Players who die or fall too far behind become ghostly apparitions that can be revived at certain points of the game.
The game feature a proximity voice chat. The game's map changes every 24 hours, providing players with a new mountain to climb every day.
Reception
The indie game was met with very positive reviews from players and became a commercial success. As of June 29th, 2025, the game had a "Very positive" review rating on Steam[2] with over 22,500 user reviews.
As of June 22nd, 2025, over a million copies of PEAK had been sold.[3] On June 25th, 2025, the developers of the game reported that two million copies had been sold.[4]

In the days following the release, PEAK went viral on TikTok as multiple users shared humorous gameplay clips. For example, on June 19th, 2025, TikTok[5] user @manticatol posted a clip that garnered over 3.6 million views and 539,000 likes in ten days (shown below).

Multiple memes about and based on the game were shared on Discord and X / Twitter. For example, on June 24th, the developer @AggroCrabGames[6] shared four memes shared in the community's Discord server. On June 26th, X[7] user @NeitheYAGI shared humorous fan art based on the game that gained over 2,100 reposts and 39,000 likes in three days (shown below).
