Crawling In Public TikTok Trend refers to a series of videos posted to TikTok in late 2023, where a group of people crawl on both hands and feet through shopping malls, clothing retail stores and restaurants. The trend appears to have been started by Polish Warsaw-based TikToker @crawly_possessed in September 2023, with videos posted in November and December gathering up to 40 million views apiece.

Origin

TikToker^[1] @crawly_possessed posted their first video on September 8th, 2023. The video showed a man crawling onto a public bus. The post gathered over 200,000 views and 6,000 likes in three months (seen below, left).

The TikToker went on to record a series of prank videos^[2] where he falls down dramatically in public.

A November 10th upload of him laying on his back and inching around like a worm gathering over 15 million views and 2 million likes in three weeks (seen below, right).

On November 15th, he posted his first "crawling video,"^[3] gathering over 2 million views and 270,000 likes in two weeks (seen below).

On November 23rd, 2023, @crawly_possessed posted^[4] a video inviting viewers to come "crawling" with him in Warsaw, Poland. The post gathered over 1 million views and 60,000 likes in a week, and generally positive feedback from his fans (seen below, left). On November 23rd, he posted his first mass crawling video, showing him and several other men crawling through a mall. The post^[5] gathered over 22 million plays and 3 million likes in a week (seen below, right)

On December 3rd, 2023, he posted another "Group Crawl" video^[6] gathering nearly 30 million views and 3 million likes in five days (seen below, left). Also on December 3rd, 2023, he posted a video^[7] of him and his group crawling into a KFC, gathering over 40 million plays and 4 million likes in five days (seen below, right).
