About
Creature Breaking Glass and Me At Bro's Window, also known as Love Thumper, is a viral video of a creepypasta creature with a thin, lanky body and distorted, human-like face repeatedly slamming its hand against the viewer's screen, causing it to crack. The creature, created by Doctor Nowhere, is said to eat a viewer's organs if it manages to break out of the screen. The creature was first posted on Doctor Nowhere's Instagram page in December 2023 and appeared in several more pieces of content between then and January 2024. That month, the video of the creature breaking the glass became the subject of the "me at bro's window" TikTok meme, where it is presented alongside funny captions about trying to get your friend's attention from outside their window.
Origin
On December 2nd, 2023, Instagram[1] user doctor.nowhere posted a work-in-progress image of a shadowy creature with a thin, lanky body and a human-like face standing in the corner of a room, garnering over 10,700 likes in a month. On December 6th, he posted a video of the creature to Instagram,[2] in which it makes gurgling, groaning noises while slamming its hand against the screen, captioned, "thing that is trapped behind a screen that will eat your organs if it breaks out (the video ends right before the glass breaks), garnering over 37,000 likes in a month (shown below).
On December 20th, the user posted the video to their YouTube[3] page, SilasOrion, garnering around 5,300 views in a month.
Spread
On January 5th, 2024, the creator uploaded the video to his X[7] page, garnering over 32,000 likes in three weeks. The post inspired numerous photoshops and memes about the video in the comments, including an edit where the screen is broken and the monster has escaped (examples shown below).
That month, the video of the creature slamming the glass became the subject of memes on TikTok, in which the creature is used to represent someone tapping at their friend's window. It is unclear who started the meme, although one of the earliest known examples was uploaded on January 12th, 2024 by TikToker[4] @honey.stomper.
On January 13th, 2024, TikToker[5] @thisisreal28 posted a video using the meme that gained over 2.5 million views in 12 days (shown below, left). On January 14th, TikToker[6] @escapeartist16 posted a version of the meme that gained over 2.1 million views in the same rough span of time (shown below, right).

On January 24th, the creator posted a video to YouTube[8] titled "LOVE THUMPER" featuring the creature, garnering over 2,600 views in a day (shown below).
