The Brexit Party is a political party that split from the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP) in 2019. The party was established on April 12th, 2019 with the aim of making the United Kingdom leave the European Union as according to its leader Nigel Farage, the main parties were trying to avoid Brexit.

History

Launch

The Brexit Party launched in Coventry on April 12th, 2019 where its leader Nigel Farage announced that the party would field candidates in the forthcoming European Parliament elections on May 23rd, 2019.

The Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage announced during the launch event that the Brexit Party would field candidates in the 2019 European Parliament elections.
