About

Remainer Logic refers to humorous posts that were posted on social media mocking Remain supporters claims that a majority of the voters voted for pro-Remain parties by comparing combined votes and results to winner(s) in pop culture.

Origin

In the aftermath of the 2019 European Parliament Election, the Brexit Party had won the most seats and won the highest vote share. Despite this, a lot of pro-Remain supporting parties had gained votes and seats at the loss of the Conservative and Labour Party.

During the results, the People's Vote's social media pages claimed that Leave supporting parties did not gain a majority of votes in areas which led to Leave supporters criticising People's Vote and then later mocking Remain supporters by comparing results by combining them to overall results and winners in the subject of pop culture references.

Spread and Reaction

To be added.

#RemainerLogic was also trending on Twitter for a short period of time.

Various Examples

Various examples included Tony Blair's 1997 election victory and stated that he did not win the election as more parties got more votes.

ABBA's victory at the Eurovision Song Contest where they got the majority of the percentage vote and Andy Murray not winning Wimbledon in 2016 as Federer got more points and Nadal and Djokovic won more games.
