Damn Here We Go Again or Yanfry Walking is a viral video of a young Black child, known as "Yanfry the Tender," walking coolly down the sidewalk with a backpack on. The clip became the subject of edits on TikTok in March and April 2022 set to the opening of the song "Everything I Am" by Kanye West where the user jokes about walking into a situation proudly despite not being prepared for the situation. The format is similar to the Ah Shit, Here We Go Again meme from GTA.

Origin

On November 23rd, 2021, TikToker^[1] @venao2323 posted a video of a child known as "Yanfry the Tender" walking down the sidewalk "like a man," gaining over 63.8 million views in five months (shown below).

Spread

In March 2022, TikTokers began using the clip in edits under an original sound consisting of the opening lyrics of "Everything I Am" by Kanye West, where Kanye sings, "Damn, here we go again." On March 23rd, 2022, TikToker^[2] @elijahcashmoney posted an edit of the video captioned, "Me strolling through school with 58 missing assignments listening to music," gaining over 454,000 views in two weeks (shown below).

On March 31st, TikToker^[3] @megaleio__ posted a similar edit joking about walking into work knowing the bare minimum, gaining over 8.6 million views in four days (shown below, left). On April 1st, TikToker^[4] @forgiven_n posted an edit about walking out of class having absorbed nothing using the clip, gaining over 5.9 million views in three days (shown below, right).

On April 2nd, TikToker^[5] @zandotv posted an edit using the video joking about hopping online to get verbally abused, gaining over 2.4 million views in two days (shown below).
