Self proclaimed comedian and entertainer Daniel Songer is a retired security consultant, amateur poet and "christian songwriter" from Georgia. He is often referred to as the world's worst stand-up comedian.

Origin

As this interview from July 2010 shows, Daniel Songer began writing and performing his high energy "comedy acts" in 2007 (uploading them to his youtube channel danpoetman). His first video can be seen below.

This was followed by dozens more videos (in September 2010 Songer's youtube channel hosts more than 140) all of which featured the same peculiar delivery and random joke structure as the first, and are filmed in or around the back yard of Songer's Georgia home. Some of the recent topics he has covered in his routines are "Girls Like Public Sex", "Honk If You're Horny" and "Men Jerk Off".

Popularity

Daniel has since become a cult figure on youtube. Earlier this year, after he announced his (short-lived) retirement from stand-up comedy, youtube user AdamAnger posted a collection of Songer's "best" punch lines in a video called "Tribute To Daniel Songer DanPoetMan".

I Am Your Child

Prior to Daniel's notoriety as a stand up comedian, he often dabbled in poetry and "christian songwriting". His a capella rendition of "I Am Your Child" was the victim of several remixes and autotunes.

IRL Sightings

On October 5th 2008 youtube user tammarie529 posted a video of Songer dancing at a chili cook off in Atlanta

Another video of Daniel dancing from 2008 this time at Oktoberfest in Helena, GA

Yet another video of Daniel dancing from October 2008, this time at a Bryan Adams concert in Atlanta, GA.

According to comments below this video Bryan Adams later pulled Daniel up on stage with him during the concert. A video of this was also uploaded to youtube but has since been removed, although this screen shot survived.
