COMBAT WHEELCHAIR SHEET Wheelchair Name (optional): Speed Weight Swift: Name Atk Bonus Damage When downhill, your movement speed increases 2x. Bonus action to apply the emergency brakes, slowing down 15ft per round. Tyre Strike Ram Stable: You have advantage on saving throws vs being knocked prone. It takes half your movement to right yourself and your chair from being prone. Attuning: Crush Critical Hits Tyre Strike - 5ft reach, one target. Ram - 10ft reach, one target. Crush - 5ft reach, one target. The effect of an attuned item is shared between you and the chair whenever you are in it. Mounted Combat (optional): Your wheelchair can be considered as your mount if you wish to pursue this style of combat. The Critical Hits counter is part of the 'How Tough is the Chair?" ruleset and is entirely optional. АТТАСKS FEATURES Spells: Magical effects from your spells are shared between you and your wheelchair for the spell's duration, or until it is dropped. Wildshaping & Transmutation: The wheelchair shares the benefit of this magic with its user, transforming with them. The aid of the chair is still in effect despite this new form and appears however the user wants. When the user changes back, they reappear as sitting in the chair. Apparatus of the Crab Combat Wheelchair - would not fit in world war 2. - Realistic Unrealistic -Fits in my cool steampunk -homebrew = very stinky world -people forcing me to put it in my -Crabs are awesome game -I don't have to think about adversity -What if it runs over a pebble? -makes me think about disabled -Fit lots of friends inside рeople -Use your action to pull levers. Very fun! -I didn't read the mechanics for this one, sorry :/

disabled vets opinion on combat wheelchair

GhostManOnThird · 23h Disabled veteran and avid D&Der here who is pretty anti-wheelchair. It has nothing to do with "disabeld people can't be heroes." Without going into a huge tirade, I'll basically say this: the combat wheelchair is silly to me because it downplays the disability and turns it into a gimmick rather than something that needs to be overcome. I don't feel represented by a magic wheelchair that has zero downsides, and is even outright OP and is better than not being in one. The wheelchair is all about nullifying disabilities and wrapping them in a pretty bow so nobody has to deal with how s----- it is to be disabled. I don't feel represented by that. I do feel represented by characters like Edward from Fullmetal Alchemist who is constantly getting his prosthetics f----- up and he has to overcome that. He has to put in twice the effort to be half as good, and still pulls through. That is real representation to me. Not "Mary Sue" nonsense that literally makes your wheelchair immune to damage and being taken away from you. And as far as suspension of disbelief goes, for some things you can. But if Aragorn pulled out an AK-47, shot Sauron in the face, would you just shrug and go "Well it's a fantasy movie, nothing needs to make sense"? Or would you not feel like Aragorn pulling out a gun was a little. off- color? By all means, float around on a magic disk. Use a magic carpet to get around. But literally riding a wheelchair into battle is. not going to end well for you when the orcs push you over and beat you to death with it. People can play how they want, it makes no difference to me. But again, as a disabled person, I think the wheelchair is insulting when it just nullifies all the point of being "disabled" in the first place and even turns it into a superpower.
