Death Spoilers
Spoilers can a book, a movie, or a video game for someone who hasn't experienced it yet. Unfortunately, there are people who enjoy doing just that. And the biggest thing they can do to ruin something for someone is reveal a major plotline death.
Usage
The spoilers can be delivered via text or image macro, or sometimes video. Occasionally, people will do this IRL and post a video or photo of it to the internet.
Even though spoilers did exist before the internet, people did not really get a kick out of ruining things for others until they had total anonymity.
Not every instance of this that is seen is necessarily true. Sometimes, fake death spoilers are made in order to trick the gullible. Other times, these will be made about real people that have died.
Where Does This Happen?
This most often happens in chatrooms, forums, and fan sites dedicated to the material to be spoiled. It is a form of trolling usually done just to irk the fandom.
Commonly Spoiled Deaths
The most commonly spoiled death ever is that of Aerith Gainsboro in Final Fantasy VII. It has been spoiled so much that the scene of her death has become well known, even to those that have not played the game.
The second most commonly spoiled death would Albus Dumbledore's demise in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. A few people even spoiled this to those waiting in line for the book's release. Video's of this can be found on Youtube.
The Obligatory Advice Dog Spin-Off
The Spoiler Dog is dedicated to spoilers, and often features death spoilers.
