DJ Loli refers to a viral video of an anime girl virtual reality avatar DJing. The video, used by Twitch streamer Gamster Gaming as their stream's pause video, was popularized in remixes on YouTube and TikTok in late 2021.

Origin

On November 12th, 2021, Gamster Gaming posted the clip of an anime girl VR avatar DJing the song "Taca a Xereca pra Mim" by MC Kaique da VP.^[1] The clip gained over 3.4 million views in three months (shown below).

Spread

Over the following months, the clip was remixed numerous times on YouTube with different songs. For example, on November 21st, 2021, YouTuber XDARIEX posted an edit that featured the girl DJing the song "La Chona" by Los Tucanes de Tijuana, gaining over 162,000 views (shown below, left). On December 11th, YouTuber hatsune M posted an EDM remix that gained over 194,000 views (shown below, right).

A similar trend occurred on TikTok during this period. On December 5th, 2021, TikToker frozen9111 posted an edit featuring a remix of Gorillaz's "Feel Good Inc.," gaining over 163,000 likes in roughly two months (shown below, left). On December 11th, user yu_editz24 posted an edit featuring the sound "suara asli" by DJCantik, gaining over 89,000 likes in a similar timeframe (shown below, right).
