About

Does TikTok Connect To The WiFi In My House? is a series of memes based on a remix of the audio from a comedy skit by TikToker @someguymark in which he makes fun of a question asked by U.S. Representative Richard Hudson during the 2023 TikTok congressional hearing, where he asked if TikTok connects to the WiFi and if it can access the WiFi network.

The comedy skit was uploaded to TikTok on March 27th, 2023. In September 2026, the audio was then remixed into a funk song and became the subject of memes and lyric videos, including animations.

Origin

During the March 2023 TikTok congressional hearing about whether or not to ban TikTok in the U.S., Representative Richard Hudson asked if TikTok can access home WiFi connections. The question was criticized by some online for misunderstanding how WiFi networks work.

On March 25th, 2023, TikToker^[2] @someguymark posted a video that directly parodies this line of questioning. The video has since been deleted, but is still available through Stitches.
