#Drans refers to a series of fan art and memes which ship Minecraft YouTuber Dream and Undertale character Sans. Launched by fans of the YouTuber, the trend achieved momentary popularity on Twitter in early February 2021, becoming a viral subject of discussions.

Origin

On February 8th, 2021, Twitter^[1] user @pencantdraw posted a fan art which shipped Minecraft YouTuber Dream with the Undertale character Sans, writing "DRANS," a portmanteau of the names. The post received over 490 retweets and 5,100 likes in two days (tweet and image shown below).

Spread

On February 9th, 2021, Twitter^[2] user @breadloafnery posted a second Drans fan art, using #drans hashtag and gaining 510 retweets and 9,900 likes in one day (shown below, left).

In the following day, many Dream fans posted their Drans fan art and memes on Twitter, with a number of posts going viral. For example, a fan art by @kinni_uwu^[3] received over 1,000 retweets and 16,400 likes in one day (shown below, center). A same-day meme by @MAXN4P^[4] received over 540 retweets and 11,200 likes in one day (shown below, right).

On February 8th, hashtag #drans reached top Twitter trends in the United States,^[5] maintaining number 3 rank for two hours. On Twitter, many users reacted to the trending hashtag and the description given to it by the Twitter Description Guy. For example, on February 8th, Twitter^[6] user @The_Eret made a tweet that gained over 1,400 retweets and 71,900 likes in one day (shown below, left).
