Drunk Attacking Store Owner Video refers to a viral video of a drunk man challenging a storeowner to a fight in his store in Malaysia and losing. The video grew popular with memes referencing Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas due to the drunk man wearing similar clothes to Carl Johnson a.k.a CJ, the main character of the game.
Origin
Though it is unclear who first uploaded the video, Facebook[1] user Tok Naga uploaded the earliest known version on June 6th, 2024. A few hours later, Facebook[2] user SugLawd Chico uploaded the full version of the video. In the video, a drunk guy wearing a white shirt challenges a store owner to a 1 vs. 1 fight. However, he loses badly. The video received more than 7,400 reactions and 1,100 shares, and 770 reactions, and 1,000 shares in five days, respectively (shown below).
Spread
Days later, the video became popular with memes and jokes about the drunk man because he wears a similar shirt as CJ, the main character of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. For example on June 6th, 2024, Facebook[3] user Ah Leng uploaded a film poster parody based on the video. The post received over 10,000 reactions and 16,000 shares in five days (shown below, left). On the next day, Facebook[4] user Masato Kenya マサト賢弥 uploaded art referencing Yamcha's Death Pose and Family Guy Death Pose. The post received more than 5,900 reactions and 1,600 shares in four days (shown below, right).
On June 6th, 2024, Facebook[5] user Djms Hafidz uploaded an edit referencing fighting games and received more than 90,000 reactions and 12,600 shares in five days (shown below).
