This meme is referencing the video game Elden Ring. It was created with another video games character and catch phrase replacing the title of the game of "Ding" (the characters catchphrase). The character taking over the skybox of the image is The Drifter from the video game Destiny 2. The Meme was created by the Instagram user keo.crow[1] in collaboration with destiny_thememe[2]. The post started gaining traction the week of March 13th when it was posted. It now has accumulated over seventeen thousand likes on Instagram. The primary habitats of the meme are Instagram, Twitter, and Reddit.
Why is the meme noteworthy? The meme has taken many forms stemming from this design, and it has been spread rapidly in a short amount of time. One can participate in the meme by creating an image using the original image from the games advertising and forming it into an original piece of work.
