Ema Skye is a character from the Ace Attorney game franchise who is portrayed as a lazy forensic detective.

Origin

On September 15th, 2005 a rerelease of the first game (Gyakuten Saiban) was released for the Nintendo DS in Japan, with a new episode, Rise from the Ashes.^[1] The new episode mentioned featured aforementioned character Ema Skye.^[2] One of the first mentions of her on the Internet was from the Ace Attorney Court Records fansite^[3], and one of the first memes about her, featuring a hentai quote was posted by (((Richard Cheese; 妹妹 Master))) onto Know Your Meme on October 14th, 2014.^[4]

Twitter user @Zari_Wari posted a tweet on January 7th, 2020 with the caption " ema skye really went from 'im babby' to 'hello, babby' " featuring 2 pictures of her concept art, one from the first game in the series Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney and the other from the sixth game in the series Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice.^[5] The tweet later on garnered 112 retweets and 470 likes.^[5].
