Estonian Dwarf is a character in The Simpsons who was featured in a "leaked" 2017 meme of the month calendar for the month of April. After users on various subreddits attempted to make the calendar's predictions a reality, many accused the character of being a forced meme.

Origin

On April 14th, 1994, The Simpsons episode "Burns' Heir" was released, in which a dwarf impersonates Lisa Simpson as part of a scheme by Mr. Burns to fool Bart Simpson (shown below, left). On March 20th, 2017, Redditor alank-47 uploaded a 2017 meme calendar to /r/MemeEconomy^[1], claiming that the meme schedule for the rest of the year had been "leaked" (shown below, right). For the month of April, a picture of the Estonian Dwarf dressed as Lisa Simpson was included. Within two weeks, the post gained over 19,800 points (83% upvoted) and 600 comments.

On March 20th, 2017, Redditor chrismikehunt submitted the picture of Estonian Dwarf with the caption "Fuck It / I'll Move to Estonia" to /r/MemeEconomy^[3] (shown below, left). The same day, the Shitposting 2006 Facebook^[7] page posted a text message conversation in which a picture of Estonian Dwarf is criticized for "memeing too fast" (shown below, right).

On March 21st, The Daily Dot^[2] published an article about the leaked 2017 meme calendar. On April 2nd, Redditor NoldorinNarwhal submitted the dwarf image with the caption "when you're supposed to be meme of the month but no one cares anymore" to /r/me_irl^[6] (shown below, left). Within 48 hours, the post gained over 9,900 points (92% upvoted). On April 3rd, Redditor boostman submitted a post asking about "Old, bald Lisa Simpsons smoking a cigar memes" to /r/OutOfTheLoop,^[4] to which several users cited the Estonian Dwarf image included on the 2017 meme calendar. On April 4th, Redditor plague_doctor8 posted a "Drakeposting" comic featuring the Estonian Dwarf and a packet of McDonald's Mulan SzeChuan sauce to /r/me_irl^[5] (shown below, right).
