Jair Bolsonaro's Golden Shower refers to a viral tweet posted in 2019 by Brazil's President Jair Bolsonaro, in which he shared a scene of two men dancing on a taxi stand after one inserts a finger into his own butt. In the sequence, another man appears and urinates on the head of the dancer. The news trended after the President's tweets asked his followers "What's a golden shower?" Bolsonaro later deleted the tweet.

On March 5th, 2019, Brazil's President Jair Bolsonaro^[1] shared on his Twitter^[2] account a video of a popular Brazilian Carnival^[3] street party in which two men are dancing and doing explicit things above a taxi stand. In his [now deleted, below] publication, Bolsonaro said that he did not feel "comfortable in showing it" but posted the whole video "to expose the truth for the population… This is what has become many street parties in the Brazilian carnival."

According to the G1^[4] news portal, the president's post with the video had more than 8,000 retweets, 46,000 likes and 39,000 comments in less than 24 hours

'Golden Showers' Claim

A day after the viral video posted by Jair Bolsonaro, he tweeted on March 6th "What's a golden shower?"^[5] to his followers, prompting a storm of memes. The post received 2,000 retweets, more than 540,000 likes and 18,000 comments in one day.

Thanks to the president's tweet about the golden shower, the adult content website Pornhub^[6] shared on March 7th, 2019 that they had a +688% in searches for "Golden Shower" in Brazil. The tweet below gained 26,000 likes, 12,500 retweets and 511 comments in three years.

The memes about Bolsonaro's tweet also spurred some content related to The Pee Tape political scandal, a rumor claiming that former U.S. President Donald Trump hired prostitutes to pee in a bed once occupied by former President Barak Obama and his wife Michelle Obama.
