The site reported that Kim was fed up with Kanye's antics and wanted to follow more serious life pursuits such as becoming a lawyer and working on a prison reform campaign, and Kanye was unhappy with the reality-television lifestyle of the Kardashian family. West had previously tweeted that he was trying to get divorced in a July 2020 tweetstorm that was later deleted.^[2] A sticking point in their divorce was their $40 million California home, which Kanye owns but Kim wants, as it is the house their four children have grown up in.

Jeffree Star Rumor

After the rumor broke, TikTok user @RealAvaLouiise made a video alleging that Kanye West had been hooking up with a "famous male beauty guru." Her source was a "big time LA lawyer" who supposedly met with Kim months prior when the divorce was brewing and learned this information.

When fans guessed she was talking about Jeffree Star, Louise signaled her approval, leading to the rumor that Kanye West was hooking up with Jeffree Star.^[5] This led to further memes about the rumor and caused Jeffree Star to trend on Twitter on January 6th. User @Pizza_Dad posted a Hey, Look At Us clip about the rumor, gaining over 2,000 retweets and 15,000 likes (shown below, top). User @fratboycevans posted a joke implying that Kris Jenner leaked the rumor to the media (shown below, bottom).
